"...See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;..." Rev 3:8

Saturday 28 September 2013

I would like to say thank you so much for popping by.

The Lord has shown me how vital and important it is to live a life
of thanksgiving and praise.

Psalms 107 v 1
"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever."

I thank you for loving and following Jesus - it brings me such joy to share my love for Him with you!

Romans 1 v 8
"First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world."

It is beautiful to see you sharing Jesus with others - what joy!!!

3 John 4
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

To live a life of thanksgiving and praise to God first and then mankind makes all the difference to your life - it changes every situation.

So, thank you, I appreciate you!!

It's Important
VERY Important!

Last night I went through to my desk to write down a reminder for today (important), thus the need to go and make a note. Then on entering the room, my eyes caught a paper next to the telephone. Taking it to write on, my eyes caught another reminder already written on the paper. I started to think about that and in the process I totally forgot what I wanted  to write down.
That night I couldn't remember what it was, and this morning having my alone time with the Lord, frustrating thoughts of "What was it????" kept distracting me.

aaah!!!!! Then revelation moment!

Our dear Lord taught me another valuable lesson:-

He reminded me of Romans 12 v 2
"And do not be conformed to this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove
what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

It's hugely important that we renew our minds. If we don't, the world will certainly leave an imprint on our minds causing us to forget His precious promises and forget who we are in Christ.

So subtle yet so dangerous!
So simple yet so profound!!

Prov 23 v 7
"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he..."

The Secret Place

On Wednesday the Lord told me twice about 'presence'. Then
a little later in the day I read a quote from Smith Wigglesworth saying:-
"I want to live in constant conversation with God."
I was reminded of Brother Lawrence who wrote "The practice of the
Presence of God."

These are things which we have heard teachings on for years and
have experienced too but I believe He desires 'much more' for our
relationship.

Then today the Lord walked through Psalm 91 with me, putting the cherry
on the top. Verse 1 talks about "He who dwells in the secret place" -
that is in Him, in His presence. The blessings for remaining in Him are huge!

When the astronauts first went to the moon, they didn't just blast off
and move directly to the moon. Every ten minutes they had to adjust their
co-ordinates as they were out and often extremely out. Then they
were given a very long distance to land on the moon and when they did
land, it was right at the end of their allotted landing strip.

Even though we have given our lives over to Him and He came to
live in us, as we focus on Him throughout the day we have to adjust our
thoughts, just like the astronauts, to check that we remain in the secret place.
Then we know that we are plugged in to the Master, to receive and
in turn be the vessel He can flow through, to love and encourage all we meet.

John 15 v 5
""I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me,
and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.""

"Choose Life"

Jeremiah 2 v 13
""For My people have committed two evils:
They have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters,
And hewn themselves cisterns - broken cisterns that can hold no water.""

Wow! Do we choose the wisdom of the world over the Living Waters?
Do we replace service for Lord over worshipping and relationship
with Him?

While looking up cisterns - I found this:

Fountain; literally, tank or reservoir. Such reservoirs were "dug in the ground (see on Jeremiah 6:7), and chiefly intended for storing living waters, i.e. those of springs and rivulets" (Payne Smith)

A cistern, by its very nature, will only hold a limited amount, and the water "collected from clay roofs or from marly soil, has the color of weak soapsuds, the taste of the earth or the stable." Who would prefer such an impure supply to the sweet, wholesome water of a fountain? But these cisterns cannot even be depended upon for this poor, turbid drink. They are "broken," like so many even of the best rock-hewn cisterns (Thomson, 'The Land and the Book,' p. 287).

John 7 v 37, 38
"On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying,
"If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink."
"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.""

Today and the rest of our lives let us choose the Living Waters. We choose a
relationship. In a relationship we don't just read about the person or just listen
to teachings about the person, we intimately get to know them. He loves us
soooooooooo much.

God is always making
Himself
known - Just look and listen!

Romans 1 v 20, 21
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened."

I think this is the key - glorifying Him and thanking Him. Again you may say
"it's too simple", but no, He doesn't make it hard for us. We make
it complicated.

 100 v 4, 5
"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations."

Wow! He is Amazing!!!

So put a song of thanksgiving on your lips, sing to Him,
He loves rejoicing with you. Look for the joys in your day, He puts
them there and waits for you to discover them.

Circumstances say "You can't"
Truth says "You CAN"
Circumstances are very real! Often they come from what seems like
every angle making you totally top heavy, insecure and screaming within - "I can't do this!!!"

BUT!!!!

But the truth is without Christ you can't! You have to accept this
and ask for His help.

Philippians 4 v 13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

He doesn't want you to do it alone!

John 10 v 10b
"I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Philippians 4 v 6
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and
supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;"

Once you have asked Him for help, then thank Him that He is helping you.
Take His hand and trust Him. You may say that is too simple - well
that is the way in the Kingdom of God. We make it too hard! We must
accept His help like a child with a kind parent. When the child
asks for help, the parent is so willing to do whatever it takes.

You are so loved, you are so special and you can do what
needs to be done with His help.
